5 & 1 Plan

With the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan, you eat 6 meals a day: 5 Medifast Meals and 1 Lean & Green Meal. You can choose any 5 Medifast Meals including shakes, soups, bars, pudding, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and more. With over 60 Medifast Meals to choose from, your menu will never lack variety! Your daily Lean & Green Meal consists of a balance of lean protein (such as beef, chicken or fish) and salad or vegetables.
With Medifast you eat every 2 to 3 hours, so you won't get hungry. The quick weight loss results you experience will inspire and motivate you to embrace Medifast as an essential part of your new, healthy lifestyle. You should begin your Medifast 5 and 1 program as soon as you get out of bed. This will kick start your body and your weight loss. The times and meal choices are just examples. However, you should have 6 meals in each day. Note, no more than 1 Medifast bar per day.

THE LEAN AND GREEN MEAL

Your Lean & Green Meal includes lean meat plus salad and/or vegetables. The Lean & Green Meal can be eaten at any time throughout the day - it does not have to be reserved for dinner time! LEAN:
- 5-7 ounces of cooked lean (e.g., chicken, turkey, fish, beef, pork, lamb, shellfish?). Grill, bake or poach meats-do not fry meats.
- Meatless Options are suitable for vegetarians and for anyone seeking more variety in the Lean & Green Meal.
- You can add optional condiments if desired. A complete Condiment list with appropriate portion sizes is available on the TOOLS FOR SUCCESS link.

GREEN:
- 3 servings of vegetables such as broccoli, spinach, eggplant, or tomatoes.
- All vegetables promote healthful eating, but during the weight loss phase of your plan we eliminate the highest carbohydrate vegetables (such as carrots, corn, peas, potatoes and brussels sprouts) in order to enhance your weight loss results.
